FAQ
Releated Questions
Find answers to common questions about our services, appointments, and how we support children, adolescents, and families.
What ages do you work with?
We support children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as parents and caregivers seeking guidance for family wellbeing.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No, you can book directly with us. However, a GP referral is required if you wish to access Medicare rebates through a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
What can I expect at the first appointment?
Your psychologist will discuss your child’s needs, history, and goals, helping us understand how to best support your family. It’s a gentle, conversation-based session designed to build comfort and clarity.
Do you offer Medicare or private health rebates?
Yes. Families may be eligible for Medicare rebates with a GP referral, and some private health funds offer additional support depending on your policy.
How long are therapy sessions?
Standard therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes, though this may vary depending on the type of service or assessment being provided.
Do you provide psychological assessments?
Yes, we offer a range of assessments for developmental, behavioural, emotional, and learning-related needs. Your psychologist will guide you through which assessments may be most appropriate.
Can you collaborate with my child’s school?
Absolutely. With consent, we can work alongside teachers and school staff to ensure consistent support across home and school environments.
How many sessions will my child need?
Every child is different. After an initial assessment, your psychologist will discuss a recommended plan based on your child’s goals and progress.
What issues do you commonly support?
We commonly assist with anxiety, emotional regulation, depression, behavioural challenges, neurodiversity, social skills, trauma, and family support needs.
Do you offer online or telehealth sessions?
Yes, telehealth options are available for families who prefer or require remote support.
